I hope that this partnership will enable us to step up in application of green innovations in practice” – said Vidas Korsakas, manager of SG dujos Auto.
Vidas Korsakas also noted that cooperation with Scania could help to speed-up developemt of alternative fuels usage in Lithuania that was extremely slow during recent years: “European Union is very clear on focus areas for alternative fuels: it is natural gas (compressed or liquified), hydrogen and electric power or combinations of these. We hope to get more attention not only by global market players, but also by Lithuanian authorities as well”.
Recently SG Dujos was recognized and awarded by the largest Lithuanian business organization uniting service, trading and high-tech companies – Lithuanian Business Confederation – national committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Lithuania. SG Dujos have created three natural gas compression stations those produce hydrogen enriched CNG (H2NG) that is used by municipal bus companies.
SG dujos Auto started research of cleaner fuels in 2012 when Laboratory of the experimental research of hydrogen as fuel or an additive to fuel, eco-friendly fuel additives and fuel systems was developed in Pabrade. Scientific activities are carried out in cooperation with leading Lithuanian research organizations – Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Lithuanian Energy Institute. The research center is first of its kind and is unique not only in Lithuania but also in the Eastern and Northern European region. Key areas of research are: methods of enriching natural gas with hydrogen, optimal concentration for use with already existing natural gas-powered vehicles. Plans of further research include use of hydrogen in combination with other types of fuel, development and tests of other environmental-friendly and efficient solutions.
SG dujos Auto is a part of the SG Dujos group of companies. SG Dujos is pioneer and leader in development of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a fuel for transport in Lithuania.
